Soil treatment of Carbendazim and Tridemorph in relation to Spermosphere Mycofora of Groundnut.

CERBENDAZIM (Bavistin) and tridomorph (Calixin) are generally used in the management of groundnut leaf spot and rust. Cerbendazim it was noted that there was about 6 fold reduction in the fungal population in the spermosphere while in soil nearly 8 fold. Altogether 29 fungal species were recorded of which 17 from spermosphere and 22 from the soil. Increasing the concentration of. Cerbendazim in plates decreased the number of fungal species. Potential pathogen like Asperigillus flavus was inhibited at 100 µg/ml. Tridemorph it was noted to be inhibitory at 100 µg/ml to most of the spermosphere fungi. In spermosphere four fold decrease was seen while in soil only two fold decrease was seen in the fungal population. In all 31 fungal species were recorded and each species responded differently to the fungicide.
